Education:

Studied with 2 principal horns of the New York Philharmonic and 2 of the San Francisco Symphony and Claude Gordon. I’m a graduate school dropout.

Joined the Symphony:

First call sub with San Jose Symphony 20 years (well over 1000 services), joined Symphony Silicon Valley at its inception.

San Francisco Symphony, Opera, Ballet, Mendocino Festival, Midsummer Mozart,  the Oakland/East Bay, Marin, Fremont, Monterey, and Santa Cruz, Symphonies,  Opera San Jose, West Bay Opera, The Mexican National Youth Orchestra, Ballet San Jose, video game soundtracks at Skywalker Ranch, various chamber ensembles, lecturer/soloist at International Horn Society workshops in Las Vegas and Santa Barbara

Most memorable musical experience:

Beethoven’s 9th at Davies Hall with Midsummer Mozart and George Cleve. It was electric.

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing:

Training puppies

Hobbies:

Raising puppies to be wheelchair companions and hearing dogs, cooking great food, volunteer on non-profit boards of directors

Favorite vacation spot:

Anywhere there’s a redwood forest

What three things can always be found in your refrigerator:

Fresh jalapeños, veggies from the farmer’s market, blueberry preserves

If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be:

Focus on the people and things that you love
